Present Perfect Continuous Tense को Present Perfect Progressive Tense भी कहा जाता है। इस Tense से हमें ज्ञात होता है कि कोई कार्य या घटना past में शुरू हुई और अभी भी जारी है और यह कार्य या घटना आगे भी जारी रह सकती है।
(It is used to indicate an ongoing action that started in past and is continuing till now.)
For example: I have been teaching English since 2016.
मैं 2016 से अंग्रेजी पढ़ा रहा हूं।
She has been preparing for the exam for three months.
वह तीन महीने से परीक्षा की तैयारी कर रही है।
I have been trying to learn the English language for 2 years.
मैं 2 साल से अंग्रेजी भाषा सीखने की कोशिश कर रहा हूं।

Present Perfect Continuous Tense की पहचान- समय के साथ रहा है, रही है, रहे हैं आदि।
Present Perfect Continuous Tense के हिंदी वाक्यों की क्रियाओं के अंत में रहा है, रही है, रहे हैं आदि शब्द आते हैं तथा समय भी दिया होता है।
Note: यदि भूतकालिक समय नहीं दिया होगा तो sentence, present continuous tense में बनेगा।
He is playing.
He has been playing since morning.
Helping Verb तथा Main Verb
Helping Verb –Present Perfect Continuous Tense की सहायक क्रिया has been तथा have been होती है।
Main Verb- Present Perfect Continuous Tense के वाक्यों में main verb की first form+ing का प्रयोग करते है।
Has been तथा Have been का प्रयोग-
3rd person singular ( he, she, it, this, that या किसी का नाम) के साथ has been का प्रयोग किया जाता है।
3rd person singular को छोड़ कर बाकि सब के साथ ( I,we, they, you etc.) have been का प्रयोग किया जाता है।
Examples- I have been waiting for you for an hour.
मैं एक घंटे से तुम्हरा इंतजार कर रहा हूं।
He has been living in this house since 1998.
वह 1998 से इस घर में रह रहा है।
Note: निश्चित समय (point of time) के साथ since तथा अनिश्चित समय( period of time) के साथ for का प्रयोग किया जाता है।
PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE IN HINDI
Use of Since/For
We often use for and since with perfect tenses.
We use ‘for’ to talk about a period of time.
three hours, 10 years, one decade
We use ‘since’ to talk about a point in past time.

Look at these example sentences using for and since with the Present Perfect Continuous Tense:
I have been studying for three years.
मैं तीन सालों से पढ़ाई कर रहा हूं।
I have been playing here for a long.
मैं काफी देर से यहां खेल रहा हूं।
He has been playing here for a while.
वह थोड़े समय से यहां खेल रहा है।
You have been teaching for a short while.
तुम कुछ देर से पढ़ा रहे हो।
She has been weeping for a long.
वह काफी समय से रो रही है।
Why have you been peeping through this hole for a long?
तुम काफी देर से इस छेद से क्यों झांक रहे हो?
I have been playing since you are here.
जब से आप यहां हो मैं खेल रहा हूं।
I have been here since you left.
जब से आप गये हो मैं यहां हूं।
I have been here since you called me.
जब से आपने मुझे बुलाया, मैं यहां हूं।
Amit hasn’t been visiting us since March.
अमित मार्च से हमसे मिलने नहीं आ रहा है।
He has been living in Bangalore since he left school.
जब से उसने स्कूल छोड़ा, वह बैंगलोर में रह रहा है।
They have been watching TV since 7 pm.
वे सात बजे से टीवी देख रहें हैं।
Note: For can be used with all tenses. Since is usually used with perfect tenses only.
Contraction with Present Perfect Continuous in Hindi
We often contract the subject and the first auxiliary verb.
Examples-
I have been- I’ve been
You have been- You’ve been
He has been- He’s been
She has been- She’s been
We have been- We’ve been
They have been- They’ve been
It has been- It’s been
John has been- John’s been
The car has been- The car’s been
Reena has been- Reena’s been
I’ve been reading since 2 o’clock.
He’s been crying since morning.
In negative sentences, we may contract the first auxiliary verb and ‘not’.
It hasn’t been snowing.
I haven’t been playing tennis.

Affirmative Sentences
Subject+ has/have+been+v1+ing+object+since/for+(time).
Examples- You have been disturbing me since Monday.
तुम सोमवार से मुझे परेशान कर रहे हो।
I have been doing this work since last year.
मैं पिछले साल से यह काम कर रहा हूं।
The author has been writing this book since 2017.
लेखक 2017 से यह किताब लिख रहा है।
They have been listening to the songs for an hour.
वे एक घंटे से गाने सुन रहें हैं।
I have been writing articles for 2 years.
मैं दो सालों से लेख लिख रहा हूं।
They have been building that house for five months.
वे पांच महीनों से उस घर को बना रहें हैं।
I have been talking to you since morning.
मैं सुबह से आपसे बात कर रहा हूं।
He has been reading an English book since 2 o’clock.
वह दो बजे से एक इंग्लिश किताब पढ़ रहा है।
You’ve been learning English since childhood.
तुम बचपन से इंग्लिश सीख रहे हो।
I have been working on my project since last Sunday.
मैं पिछले रविवार से अपने प्रोजेक्ट पर काम कर रहा हूं।
I have been living without electricity for two weeks.
मैं दो हफ्तों से बिना बिजली के रह रहा हूं।
She hasn’t been feeling well for 2 weeks.
वह दो हफ्तों से अच्छा महसूस नहीं कर रही है।
He has been living in this house since 1995.
वह 1995 से इस घर में रह रहा है।
The teacher has been marking the answer books since morning.
अध्यापक सुबह से उत्तर पुस्तिकाओं में अंक दे रहा है।
The students have been working well since last year.
विधार्थी पिछले साल से अच्छा कर रहें हैं।
We’ve been studying since 9 o’clock.
हम 9 बजे से पढ़ रहें हैं।
That boy has been standing at the gate for hours.
वह लड़का घंटों से दरवाजे पर खड़ा हुआ है।
Negative Sentences
In negative sentences ‘not’ is placed between has/have and been.
Subject+has/have+not+been+v1+ing+object+since/for+ time.
Examples-
The children have not been making a noise since morning.
बच्चे सुबह से शोर नहीं कर रहें हैं।
He has not been waiting for you for a long.
वह काफी समय से आपका इंतजार नहीं कर रहा है।
It has not been raining since morning.
सुबह से बारिश नहीं हो रही है।
The tap has not been running for two hours.
नल दो घंटों से नहीं चल रहा है।
We have not been fighting since morning.
हम सुबह से नहीं लड़ रहें हैं।
Meenu has not been sleeping since five o’clock.
मीनू पांच बजे से नहीं हो रही है।
He has not been living with me for a year.
वह एक साल से मेरे पास नहीं रह रहा है।
Interrogative Sentences
In interrogative sentences ‘has or have’ is placed before the subject, whereas ‘been’ follows the subject.
Yes/No Questions
Have/Has+subject+been+v1+ing+object+since/for+ time?
Examples-
Have you not been making him fool for five years?
क्या तुम पांच साल से उसे मूर्ख नहीं बना रहे हो?
Has my mother been cooking food for 3 hours?

Negative Interrogative Sentences

Special Case
जब वाक्य में Subject के बारे में ही पूछा जाता है तो उस दशा में Sentence Structure affirmative sentence की तरह होता है।
Int: <Wh-sub.>+ has/have+been+ v1+ ing+object+ since/for+ time?
Neg. Int.: <Wh-sub.>+has/have+been+v1+ing+object+ since/for+time?

10 साल से यहां कौन रह रहा है?

सुबह से ये काम किसका बेटा कर रहा है?

दो घंटे से कौन लिख रहा है?
Who all have been writing for 2 hours?
दो घंटे से कौन-कौन लिख रहे हैं?
Who has been beating you for a long?
इतनी देर से तुम्हें कौन पीट रहा है?
Who has been knocking at the door for an hour?
कौन एक घंटे से दरवाजा खटखटा रहा है?
Whose brother has been going there since last month?
किसका भाई पिछले महीने से वहां जा रहा है?
We use the present perfect continuous tense to talk about:
1. Past action still continuing
2. Past action recently stopped
1. ऐसे कार्य जो भूतकाल में शुरू हुए हो और वर्तमान में अब भी जारी है। ऐसे वाक्यों में since या for का प्रयोग समय को व्यक्त करने के लिए किया जाता है।
We use the present perfect continuous tense to represent the progress of an unfinished action that started in the past and is continuing till now. This is often used with for or since.
The children have been playing since morning.
We have been watching TV for an hour.
2. यह Tense उन कार्यों को भी represent करता है जो भूतकाल में शुरू हुए और हाल ही में समाप्त हुए हैं।
It can be used to depict a finished action that started in the past and just stopped recently.
He’s sweating (now) because he has been running.
He’s drenched as he has been watering the plants.
सभी verbs को continuous form में नहीं बनाया जा सकता (कुछ विशेष दशाओं को छोड़ कर)। इस दशा में Present Perfect Tense का प्रयोग किया जाता है।
All verbs are not compatible with continuous action. In that case, we use Present Perfect Tense.
Some examples of such verbs are to know, to like, to appear, etc.
Always use the present perfect simple not continuous with the verbs believe, know, understand, like, dislike, belong, own
I have never understood Math very well.
He has always liked sports.
We have known each other since we were kids.
I have been knowing him for 2 years. (incorrect)
I have known him for 2 years. (correct)
I have been owning this house for years. (incorrect)
I have owned this house for years. (correct)
It has been exiting for a century. ( Incorrect)
It has existed for a century. ( Correct)
When we do not use duration in the present perfect continuous tense, in order to emphasize the meaning, we use ‘recently’ or ‘lately’.
The following examples express the use of present perfect continuous tense, without any duration.
Have you been eating healthy lately?
Recently, Nikhil has been reading good books.
What have they been working on lately?
Recently, she has been falling ill too often.
